Interview with Domz Tiu

Dominique Tiu
Account Manager/Fashion blogger-cum-stylist/Model/Brand Ambassador

Tell us about yourself and what you do.
Well, I am Domz, in the digital world, I blog about fashion and shop a lot. In a world devoid of pixels, I manage accounts in a television network, and manage to still shop a lot.

To be a bit more in depth, you can refer to my "about page" over here: http://www.konichiwear.com/about-dominique-tiu/

Most of the people call her “Domz” for short.

When did you first interested in fashion?
As a child, I've always liked looking at fancy clothes. When I was sixteen and started fitting into them properly, I found that fashion made it easy for me to express myself. Now that I'm a little bit older, I realized that fashion is a narrative in itself--it conveys a person's thoughts, background, and possible actions effectively.

You’re one of the few fashion bloggers I’ve noticed that has a really good eagle eye for styling and good design. What are your fashion Influences/Inspirations.

My good friend who recently migrated into Canada--we both had an eerie-ly identical style so we both shopped together until we learned to focus on things we liked and diversified. Then I got inspirations from magazines, movies, and television series, followed by blogs and the people around me.

You blog, facebook, twitter, and manage to keep you cool. How do you do it?
You'd be surprised to know that I have a hard time balancing everything!

                                                       Tricia, Crissey, and Domz

You, Crissey and Tricia are closed friends, right? How did you meet?
We went to the same college and had the same majors. I met Tricia when I shifted to the course and since I was a model back then, looking to diversify her portfolio, I tapped into Tricia's art. As for Crissey, we had so much class together and managed to copy off each other's assignments so that was an easy start.

Tell us about your new band the "Russian Roulette"?

Haha, what you read in the papers is pretty much it. :) Read the article here

Who are some of your favorite designers?

Internationally? Proenza and Schouler, YSL, Alber Elbaz, Phoebe Philo. Semi-Locally, Furne ONe.

Do you follow some trends?

Pretty much, yes! It's unavoidable.

What era do you think you belong?

Modern era. Haha. I'd love to be in the past but I guess if I get warped to that certain era, things wouldn't be as fun.

If you could meet any 3 people in the world, Past or Present, Who would you choose?

I've never actually thought about this and I don't really have an answer!

Who are you favorite Pinoy/Pinay Fashion Bloggers?
Apart from the GGs, check out Abbie Almasco(AlbieAlmasco), Lauren Dado(IamBurgeois), and Kryz Uy (Thirsty thought)!

What advice can you give to all aspiring fashion bloggers?

Do it because you want to do it and not because you think there's an incentive.

Poll of the week:
What do you think the hottest color this summer?
Family of yellows, reds, and greens. :)
